Women's lacrosse lands three on All-Conference teams

MANSFIELD, Mass. – The Saint Anselm College women's lacrosse team had three student-athletes earn postseason recognition from the Northeast-10 Conference as the league announced its All-Conference teams on Thursday.

Senior Molly Beck (Old Saybrook, Conn.) earned Second Team honors while freshmen Jenna Balboni (Billerica, Mass.) and Taylor Cobain (Smithfield, R.I.) were named to the All-Rookie Team.

Beck, who was a Third Team selection in 2018, led the team with 56 points and 40 goals along with 16 points, all single-season career-highs. She won 55 draw controls and scooped up 23 ground balls while forcing 15 turnovers. In 14 of the 16 games she played, she had a multi-point game and had nine hat tricks on the year. She had a season-high seven points (6-1=7) against Southern New Hampshire on Mar. 27.

She finished her career with 118 points on 90 goals and 28 assists (90-28=118) over 49 games at the Hilltop, capping her career ranked 12th all-time in point scoring. Beck concluded her storied career with an active 19-game point streak that dated back to her junior season.

Balboni had an impressive rookie year in 16 starts, finishing tied for third on the team in points with 42. Her 14 assists were third on the team while her 28 goals were good for fourth on the squad. She also won seven draw controls, forced eight turnovers, and picked up 14 ground balls. Balboni had 11 multi-point contests, including a season-high six (5-1=6) at No. 19 Bentley on Mar. 30. She finished with four hat tricks and seven multi-goal games.

Cobain also concluded a great freshman campaign. Her 36 goals were second-best on the team while she added three assists for 39 points and starting in all 16 games. She also won 50 draw controls, good for second on the team. She picked up 22 ground balls and forced 15 turnovers. Cobain finished the season with 11 multi-point games and hat tricks in eight of them. She had a season-high five points (4-1=5) during an 18-6 win over American International on Mar. 23. She was also named NE10 Rookie of the Week twice.
